
Rizik’s, a Washington institution since the early 1900s, sells fine designer ready to wear women’s designer apparel and accessories. Cathy worked on literally hundreds of advertisements and campaigns featured in Engaged Magazine, The Washington Post, Washingtonian and other publications as well for over 15 years.

Colony House Furntiure was a Washington area marketplace leader in providing classic, upscale furniture and accessories. This ad series touts the company’s professional interior design team, using a “Designing A Beautiful Way To Live” advertising campaign, that was a huge, award-winning success.

The challenge for Marvel Comics: How do you enhance, showcase and celebrate paintings of America’s most beloved superheroes created by the world’s most acclaimed and talented artists? Cathy was able to enjoy a designer’s dream using such beautiful imagery, the Marvel Masterpiece Card Set is truly a celebration of the inspiring, supernatural and dreamy nature of the works of art it features. Cathy created this sell sheet / flyer from scratch and also lead the team that created the entire card set.

The challenge for DC Rental was to create a presence in the marketplace locally and nationally that affirms the versatility and high calibur of DC Rentals vast catering services. The solution was to hire an outstanding photographer to
to take exemplary images of the many choices available to the end user, and then place the ads in the finest, strategically chosen magazines.

The chellenge for Fair Oaks Mall was to rebrand and reposition an underutilized, enormous mall with a stellar location near a metropolitan city to a high-end target audience, focusing on the vast selection of stores. Ah, yes, one of those best ads that never ran. Come up with a great concept, great visuals and a great strategy. ”Fair Oaks Mall – What’s In It For You?” is the tagline and theme. Each ad tells a story that we all can relate to, and then describes the stores at Fair Oaks Mall that you can find the solutions to the these sample, everyday problems--most with a humorous twist.

Representative of the campaign launch media for the DC office of national commercial real estate title and settlement services behemoth, LandAmerica Commercial Services. DC is one of the largest of their more than 800 offices. These images reflect their “Let’s Get Something Settled” & 1031 Advertising Campaign. Cathy was the creative director and occasional designer for these advertising campaigns, helping maintain brand identity and consistency.

The solution was to come up with a campaign that people can identify with and understand, such as a well-known boxer whose funds were grossly mismanaged, thus he died penniless.
